eDocYouSign one-time verification codes for document signers: how you opt in, what we send, and how to stop.

Last updated: October 24, 2026

The short version

  • eDocYouSign texts a one-time code only when you ask for it on a signing page, to confirm it's you before a document opens.
  • One message per request. No marketing. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Email support@edocyousign.com.

1. The program

Program name: eDocYouSign SMS verification codes. Operated by: Bell LLC, the company behind eDocYouSign, an end-to-end encrypted electronic signature service.

A person or business that sends you a document to sign with eDocYouSign (the "sender") can add a text message check. Before the document opens, you confirm a 6-digit code we text to the mobile number the sender has for you. It's an identity check on top of the document's access code, so a forwarded email link isn't enough to open the document.

2. How you opt in

You opt in on the signing page itself. When you open a document that uses a text message check, eDocYouSign shows the screen below with the last digits of the number, the button Text me a code, and this notice:

By choosing Text me a code, you agree to receive a one-time verification code by text message from eDocYouSign for this document (and another only if you ask for a new code). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent isn't a condition of any purchase. SMS terms · Privacy

Nothing is texted until you choose the button. Each time you choose Text me a code or Send a new code, one message is sent and the request is recorded in the document's audit trail. Your consent covers only verification codes for that document; it is never used for anything else and never shared or sold.

Senders agree, in our Terms of Service, to enter only a mobile number the signer gave them for this purpose. A signer who doesn't want a text can contact the sender and ask for a different check.

Codes never include the document's name or contents. Messages contain no links.

4. Message frequency and cost

One message each time you ask for a code, usually one or two per document. There are no recurring messages and no marketing messages. A signer can request at most 5 codes an hour. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. eDocYouSign never charges you for texts.

5. How to opt out

Reply STOP to any message (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, OPTOUT, REVOKE or HALT). We confirm once and send nothing more to that number, from any sender, until you reply START (or UNSTOP, YES or OPTIN). If you opt out, ask the sender for a different way to confirm your identity.

6. Help

Reply HELP (or INFO) to any message, or email support@edocyousign.com. Questions about a specific document go to the person who sent it.

7. Privacy

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except the service providers that deliver the messages for us (Twilio Inc. and wireless carriers) or where the law requires it. We never store the text of a message, because it contains your code. See the Privacy Policy.

8. Carriers and supported devices

Works on major US wireless carriers and any phone that can receive text messages. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and coverage.
